Scholarships

GIA now offers scholarships during two application periods each year for its Gemology and Jewelry Manufacturing Arts programs, courses, and Lab classes – March 1 through April 30 and June 15 through October 31.
Applications for scholarship awards that can be applied toward programs, courses, and Lab classes in the upcoming calendar year (2013) will be accepted June 15 through October 31.

Absolute Brilliance ScholarshipAward amount:  $1,000
One scholarship available for eLearning Diamond Essentials or Graduate Diamonds Diploma courses.
ColorMasters ScholarshipAward maximum: $450
Eight scholarships available for the eLearning Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP) diploma program. Preference will be given to applicants employed by a jewelry store that carries ColorMasters products.
Eunice Miles ScholarshipAward maximum: $500
Five scholarships available for any eLearning course.
Dr. Geoffrey Smith ScholarshipAward maximum $500
One scholarship available for any course or program. To qualify, applicant must have previously participated in a GIA Junior Gemologist class.
Fruchtman Marketing ScholarshipAward maximum: $1,000
One scholarship available for any on campus or eLearning course, program, or Lab class. Open to U.S. military veterans, including reservists and National Guard personnel. To qualify, applicants must include proof of U.S. military service.
George W. Juno Memorial ScholarshipAward maximum: $1,000
One scholarship available for eLearning gemology courses.

GIA Scholarship Fund for U.S. VeteransAward maximum: $450
Ten scholarships available for the eLearning Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP) diploma. Open to U.S. military veterans, including reservists and National Guard personnel. To qualify, applicants must include proof of U.S. military service.
GIA Scholarship – eLearningAward maximum: $1,500
Multiple scholarships available for any eLearning course. Applicants must reside in the United States.
GIA Scholarship – Lab Classes (Carlsbad and New York location only)Award maximum: $1,295
Multiple scholarships available for Lab Classes. Applicants must reside in the U.S.

GIA Scholarship – On CampusAward maximum: $18,000
Multiple scholarships available for on campus programs and courses including the Graduate Gemologist (GG) program, Jewelry Manufacturing Arts program including Applied Jewelry Arts (AJA), Graduate Jeweler (GJ), Comprehensive CAD/CAM for Jewelers and Jewelry Design courses.
GIA Scholarship – San Diego County ResidentAward maximum: $1,000
Multiple scholarships available for any course or program. Applicants must reside in San Diego County.

Independent Jewelers Organization/IJO Scholarship*Award maximum: $500
Four scholarships available for any gemology course or program. Available only to IJO Members or their employees (*includes Canadian Members).

Irving Getz ScholarshipAward maximum: $2,000
One scholarship available for any eLearning course, program, or Lab class (Carlsbad and New York location only).

Jewelers of America ScholarshipsJewelers of America (JA) has scholarships available for GIA eLearning courses for JA members and their employees. Applicants must be at least 18 years old; have at least one year of experience working at a JA member store or two years working in the jewelry industry; and not already be enrolled in another GIA eLearning course.
